I’m Amelia and I am so glad you have found Nurture Sleep. As a Mum of two beautiful and energetic girls I fully understand and appreciate the importance of restful and restorative sleep, not just for babies and children, but for the whole family. When it comes to sleep, there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution. As a holistic baby and child sleep consultant I believe it is important to take a big picture approach and consider all elements that can have an impact on sleep, including your child’s sleep environment, feeding and nutrition, sleep associations, nap schedules, bedtime routines, your child’s temperament, your philosophy as a parent and your family dynamic.
Through gaining an understanding of your child’s unique sleep situation, I will design a customised and comprehensive sleep plan, provide you with gentle coaching so that you have confidence to implement the plan, as well as provide you with ongoing support and encouragement as you and your little one establish positive associations and routines, while restoring optimal sleep for the whole family.
I am available for in-home consults on the Mid North Coast of NSW and am available anywhere in Australia, as well as internationally, for phone consults.

Amelia's help literally changed our lives. I was at a complete loss with my 6 month old's sleep after trying everything that I could think of. Especially also having a 2 year old toddler, I was just beyond exhausted with our 6 month old waking every 1- 2 hours. I think the longest stretch of sleep I had had in 6 months was 3 hours. I approached Amelia in desperation, thinking that maybe at best we would get some decent stretches of sleep (would have been happy with 4 hours!) After putting into place most of the changes that Amelia suggested we saw improvements within 24 hours! Within a week our son had slept through the night and now a few weeks on he is doing the same. From feeding 2 - 3 times, he is now not needing to be fed at all (most nights) and only occasionally needs to be resettled through the night. Also, slight changes to his day routine have seen him sleeping better through the day as well. My whole family has benefited from Amelia's help - she was so supportive, understanding, kind and professional. Amelia has been incredibly supportive helping us to establish a better routine for our baby. We were battling multiple wakes at night, poor day sleep and multiple sleep associations. Amelia is wonderful. She taught my family and myself what sleep is again. After having so much trouble with getting my son back to sleep after having Covid. The second day he was going to sleep by himself. After 5 days he was sleeping through the night. This was just after a phone consult. Amelia was so helpful and supportive and reminded me that I was only human and together we can get my son back into a good sleep routine and she was right. I can't recommend her enough.
Amelia was warm and full of knowledge and has completely changed our sleeping habits for 6 month old Charlie. Instead of waking 5 times overnight, he wakes once. And daytime sleeps are predictable and painless. Cannot recommend Amelia highly enough, and that was only after a phone consultation!
Our 13 month old was going through a sleep regression, separation anxiety and settling issues after an overseas holiday. Amelia gave us a thorough consult, took our parenting style into consideration and made a very detailed sleep plan. She shared some information about toddlers sleep that I never realised. Amelia was a fountain of knowledge, explaining to me the science behind babies' sleep and what we can do to work with it for improvement. When we brought our baby home after 3 months in NICU due to being premature, we had days of 15 hour awake periods, followed by crashing out of shear exhaustion for 5 hour day naps. He wasn’t the only one who was exhausted, sleep deprivation is awful. It simply wasn’t sustainable and we weren’t the parents we wanted to be. Amelia was our saviour. She guided us through positive sleep associations, the sleep environment and provided routines. She was very knowledgeable, empathetic and gentle. Her suggested approach was cognisant of, and aligned with, our chosen parenting style. Our boy is a baby who thrives on a routine, and we like the certainty of knowing what’s happening when. It turned out that he was actually quite an independent sleeper so responded quickly to the strategy we used to help him learn how to self soothe. So the master cat napper and night feeds were no more! People think “sleep training” is synonymous with leaving your baby to cry it out - this is so not true. I had no idea that babies need to be taught how to sleep, no idea about awake times, number of naps, circadian rhythm, melatonin or serotonin. Getting a baby sleep consultant was the best money I ever spent, and it didn’t even cost that much. What it has given us is truly priceless.
Thank you for your time and advice, I was really at a struggling point at a time where I should’ve been enjoying watching my little man grow, but it seemed no matter what I did we couldn’t get more than a couple hours of sleep. Amelia was a sleepsaver! Her help, patience, and guidance. I wasn’t the easiest client as I kept forgetting to reply, days all seemed as one, but she showed nothing but patience and understanding. Her advice we still follow today it’s the only routine that worked, we went from waking constantly all night, to sleeping through the night. Thank you Amelia I will forever be grateful.
